HILLS and CHALLENGES
This course is mostly flat with 1 short, steep hill about 40 yards long. This is the hill on Third Street going up to the Moonlight Beach parking lot. You’ll go down this hill shortly after the start and you’ll be tackling it with great success at mile 4.1. We will have marines there to “encourage” you as you run up this little beast of a hill.
You’ll find an easy, short hill going into Solana Beach and a slight incline heading north from Cardiff into Encinitas on Hwy 101.
Other than that, enjoy the BEAUTIFUL pacific ocean views, quaint little surf towns, public art, historic landmarks, the smell of the salty ocean air, and unique neighborhood of downtown Encinitas.
