Any future Encinitas Half Marathon event is unclear at this time. The City of Encinitas is not reviewing or accepting 2022 special event applications at this time. If our organization is approved for 2022, then all 2020 deferred runners will be able to register at no charge.

Please email [email protected] with your updated FULL shipping address including Apt or Suite number, if applicable.

We will ship out all Virtual Race packages starting September 23rd, 2020. You will have until December 31, 2020 to complete your Encinitas Half Marathon & 5K virtual race! You can post your results and photos via your RunSignUp account.

Because the Encinitas Half Marathon & 5K was mandated by the State of California to cancel the race 2 weeks before race day, we are unable to give refunds. When someone registers for a race, the entry fees are spent almost immediately. The entry fees help pay for the upfront race planning expenses, such as traffic control plans, permits, shirts, medals, marketing, finish line food, equipment, deposits, staff, bibs, swag, storage, etc. all of which are non-refundable to the organization. The No Refund policy was clearly stated in the waiver and click box before payment was made. If you purchased the race insurance at the time of registration, please contact Allianz Insurance Company to process your claim.

All runners that deferred to 2021 will receive their tech shirt or tank, finisher’s medal and swag in the mail at no additional charge. Shipments will begin September 23rd.

If the COVID-19 pandemic ends in early 2021 that will be wonderful news for the entire planet, however, we would not be able put together a race for March 2021 in that amount of time. It takes at least 6-8 months of planning and the Encinitas Half Marathon will suspend most operations in October 2020.

We will continue to monitor developments with the pandemic including vaccine development and distribution and hope to come back strong in 2022!

If you were a Legacy Runner in 2020, then you will have your Legacy Runner Beach Towel mailed to you. If you were a Challenger Series runner, you’ll receive your extra medal in the virtual run package!

You may complete your virtual half marathon or 5K at anytime you choose BEFORE December 31st.

To post your results: Log into your RunSignUp account through www.RunSignUp.com and click on “Submit Virtual Results”. If you don’t see that button, email [email protected] and we’ll quickly update your registration so that button appears.

Once you’ve completed the virtual race, you can send us a photo and you’ll automatically be entered to win an AWESOME prize! Send photo to [email protected]

**If you are injured, pregnant, contracted COVID or just not running at the moment, you may either complete the half marathon or 5K when you are up and going again or you may complete the virtual race by walking, hiking, or on an elliptical. This is meant to be fun, not stressful. Safety and health is first and we advise all of our runners to only attempt this event when you are feeling 100%!
