THE COURSE

This course is perfect for both first-timers and elite athletes, the Encinitas Half Marathon is 13.1 miles of unforgettable fun through America’s most quintessential surf towns of Leucadia, Encinitas, Cardiff and Solana Beach!

HILLS and CHALLENGES

This course has gently rolling hills with 1 short, steep hill about 40 yards long. This is the hill on Third Street going up to the Moonlight Beach parking lot. You’ll go down this hill shortly after the start and you’ll be tackling it with great success at mile 4.1. The community members LOVE to support the runners climbing this little hill.

You’ll find an easy, short hill going into Solana Beach and a slight incline heading north from Cardiff into Encinitas on Hwy 101.

Other than that, enjoy the BEAUTIFUL pacific ocean views, quaint little surf towns, public art, historic landmarks, the smell of the salty ocean air, and unique neighborhood of downtown Encinitas.
